That’s funny, because he is actually the person I respect the most in kpop :3
Zico is someone who knows who he is and does not let anyone else decide that for him. He is so passionate about the things he loves that it is actually inspiring to me. He is an amazing rapper, but he can also sing, write, and produce. He is one of my favorite producers — I have yet to be disappointed by a song of his — and I really like how he writes and produces for people who are not in the same group or company as he is, and who are not very popular.
He does not write and produce for the sake of fame and money, but rather simply because he loves it. He does whatever he can to help struggling groups / artists gain even the tiniest bit of recognition.
This goes for all of Block B, but he really could not care less about having an “idol image,” and would rather just have fun and enjoy himself in whatever he does. He is unbelievably dorky and just downright weird at times, and it is fantastic.
Even though he can seem very cocky and difficult to approach, he is actually a rather humble and down-to-earth person.
He may seem like the type who likes to party and go clubbing, but he has firmly stated the exact opposite. He is someone who would much rather stay home and relax than go out and drink.
The amount of pure shock on his face when Block B won their first music show always does its job of reminding me just how humble he is. Never in his wildest dreams had the thought even crossed his mind that Block B might win a music show. He was not out there to win. He was out there to make music and have fun. This win was merely the icing atop a cake for him.
Another thing is his preference when it comes to women. Zico is one of the few idols who has blatantly stated that he does not like skinny women; he likes women with no thigh gap at all. He not only has stated that he prefers that type of body, but he has also called it “glamorous.” I think it speaks volumes about him when he so clearly states this, even when he lives in a country where so many believe that the only way to beautiful is to be skinny, and so many idols mimic this way of thinking.
If you need any other reasons to not be so wary of him, just look at these pictures of him showing off his stupid Hello Kitty obsession
I hoped this helped you learn a bit about him~ Sorry if I rambled on there ^^” I genuinely think that you should give him and Block B a chance; I have yet to meet a person who checked them out and regretted it.
If part of the intimidation is in the videos / the hard rapping, then I would suggest listening to some of their softer stuff, which they are amazing at:
Movie’s Over (he sings in this one :3)
Be the Light (he also sings in the beginning :3)
Also, you could check out some of the shows they have done:
Match Up (kind of like a Block B TV)
